ReplyDeleteTypical Three Stooges moose hockey from the bankrupt AI community. Store more patterns? Stronger heuristics? So how many gigabucks do they want to sap the govt. for to build another IBM monster computer? Sorry, real artificial intelligence also requires the ability to compare two patterns mentally then form a new pattern out of the comparison, a logical pattern that substitutes for heuristics and becomes part of the comparison hardware, so if AI can ever make a computer smarter than a doughnut I'd be surprised. For decades the AI professors have been a community of charlatans, parasiting off academia whle producing nada other than computing metaphysics tracts. The real action is to make a new DEVICE that thinks, not to make a computer program that simulates thought and run it on a faster computer, sorry. That requires AI charlatans to drop software as a matter of principle. A truly artificially intelligent machine could be trained to program software, but that's just it, there would be no software in it. As long as the AI crowd keep talking software, they might as well bring a unicorn in and ride it into the pitch :)
