When a hypothesis is neither true nor false Mathematician Georg Cantor went mad trying to prove the Continuum Hypothesis. We're still trying 100 years later By Ayalur Krishnan

  1. My reply:

The idea of infinity is not much of an idea, it's a profession of ignorance, so no wonder Cantor went nuts. The question of God's existence suggests the question of infinity, so no wonder nobody ever gets anywhere with it.

Let's philosophize about something real, like the Universe. What if the Universe is a computer program in God's mind. Then since we can come up with an idea of the extent of the Universe, so many light-years and so many atoms, we might be able to comprehend how big God's mind must be to run the program. Thanks to spooky action at a distance, every particle must interact with every other regardless of distance, hence God's mind must be able to contain all the states then calculate all the interactions faster than it takes for the spooky action to occur. So how big is it?

Speaking of numbers. Instead of infinity, why not try to figure out what the biggest number the human mind can form a definite idea of is. For example, a Google is no sweat. How about a Google to the Googleth power? How about that operation being repeated a Google to the Googleth power times? In other words, the biggest number that can be written down in words. Obviously yet bigger numbers can be written down as programs that iterate or recurse. But what is the biggest you can write down? Or describe how to write down, for example, using a pen whose ink consists of every atom in the Universe. We need a new prize for the biggest Winslow Number :) Sorry, I don't have a fortune to leave in my will, ask Bill Gates :)

Actually, I've been calling for work to be done on Godly Computer Theory on my site for years, and still no takers.
